Our goal is to create a village community where every child reaches their full potential.
Through various sports programs such as Basketball, Soccer, and Swimming encompassing a daily routine, The Village organization has bridged the gap by providing high quality sports programs, while nurturing healthy and well-rounded children in all areas of their lives. Through sports programs focused on healthy physical development and fine motor skills, as well as daily arts and drama programs aimed towards creative self-expression, cognitive, social emotional resilience. The Ubuntu Village programs foster active lifestyle, as well as enrichment through arts and culture.
By qualitative feedback from the community, The Village programs provide a place for people to connect, grow, and become future community advocates. Providing volunteer opportunities for over 850 local High School and Middle School students, a sense of social responsibility has become the cultural norm throughout The Villages various initiatives. Implementing a 4-step module where campers become volunteers, then graduate onto paid FOYT staff, and eventually progress to Supervisory staff; this cyclical environment provides a means for a retrograde mentality that fosters generational success within the community. The Ubuntu Villages stands on the principles of a caring community toward others focusing on the understanding that it takes a village to raise a child.
Employing over 350 high school students and providing first time employment experiences through partnership with the FOYT program, and the TDSB Co-operative Education initiative. Our philosophy is aimed at creating a promising younger generation of responsible citizens. With a culture of putting the children first, while providing an enjoyable experience for each and every youth in our care. The Ubuntu Village Corp. mission is to create long term sustainable programs in the Greater Toronto Area and surrounding areas.
